What is Ausbildung?
Ausbildung is a dual vocational training program that combines practical on-the-job training with classroom education. Trainees typically spend 3–4 days per week at a company and 1–2 days at a vocational school (Berufsschule).
Programs last 2–3.5 years depending on the profession, and graduates receive a nationally recognized qualification (Berufsabschluss).
Earning While Learning
One of the biggest advantages is that Ausbildung trainees receive a monthly salary (Ausbildungsvergütung). This typically ranges from €800 to €1,200 per month in the first year, increasing with each subsequent year.
